    Cheesy Ground Beef & Potato Bake

    Serves: 4–6
    Prep Time: 20 minutes
    Cook Time: 45–55 minutes

    For the Beef Layer

    • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

    • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)

    • 1 tsp salt

    • 1 tsp paprika

    • Β½ tsp dried thyme (or Italian seasoning)


    For the Potatoes

    • 4–5 medium Yukon gold or russet potatoes, peeled and cut into thick cubes

    For the Creamy Sauce

    • 2 tbsp butter

    • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

    • 1Β½ cups milk (whole milk preferred)

    • Β½ cup heavy cream (optional but richer)

    • Β½ tsp garlic powder

    • Β½ tsp salt

    • ΒΌ tsp black pepper

    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese


    For Topping

    • 1–1Β½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar (or a blend)

    • Optional: dried parsley or cracked pepper for garnish

    1️⃣ Cook the Potatoes

    1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

    5. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper.

    6. Stir in 1 cup shredded cheese until melted and smooth.

    7. Remove from heat.

    1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

    2. Lightly grease a baking dish.

    3. Spread the cooked beef and onions evenly on the bottom.

    4. Layer potatoes over the beef.

    5. Pour creamy cheese sauce evenly over everything.

    6. Top with remaining shredded cheese.
