No Knead, No Eggs, No Butter Bread

(The Easiest & Cheapest Homemade Bread)

Makes: 1 large loaf
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Rise Time: 1–2 hours
Bake Time: 35–40 minutes


🧂 Ingredients (4 basic ingredients!)

  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, but helps yeast activate)

  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast (or active dry yeast)

  • 1¼ cups (300ml) warm water (about 105–110°F / 40–43°C)


🥣 Instructions

1️⃣ Mix the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

  2. Add warm water.

  3. Stir with a spoon until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
    (No kneading needed!)


2️⃣ First Rise

  1. Cover bowl with plastic wrap or towel.

  2. Let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.


3️⃣ Shape the Dough

  1. Lightly flour your surface.

  2. Gently transfer dough onto it.

  3. Shape into a round loaf by folding edges inward (no kneading).

  4. Place on parchment paper or into a lightly oiled loaf pan.


4️⃣ Second Rise (Optional but Better Texture)

  • Let rest 20–30 minutes while oven preheats.


5️⃣ Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

  3. Tap bottom — it should sound hollow.

  4. Cool completely before slicing.


🌟 Super Cheap Tips

  • Skip sugar if needed — still works.

  • Use store-brand flour and yeast to keep cost minimal.

  • Add seeds or herbs only if available — recipe works plain.


🧄 Optional Add-Ins (Still No Knead!)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon dried herbs

  • 2 tablespoons sunflower or sesame seeds


🧊 Storage

  • Room temperature: 2–3 days (wrapped)

  • Freeze: up to 2 months (slice before freezing for convenience)
