Crispy Honey Garlic Sesame Chicken
🛒 Ingredients
For the Chicken:

500g (1 lb) boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into bite-size pieces

½ cup cornstarch

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 egg
-
Oil for frying
For the Sauce:

⅓ cup honey
-
3 tbsp soy sauce
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
-
1 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tsp sesame oil
-
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Garnish:

1–2 tbsp sesame seeds

2 green onions, sliced
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep & Coat

Pat chicken dry.

In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.

Beat the egg separately.
-
Dip chicken into egg, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.
2️⃣ Fry Until Crispy

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy.

Remove and drain on paper towels.

For extra crispiness, fry a second time for 1–2 minutes.
3️⃣ Make the Sauce

In a pan over medium heat, add honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and sesame oil.

Simmer 2–3 minutes.

Stir in cornstarch slurry.

Cook until thick and glossy (about 1–2 minutes).
4️⃣ Toss & Finish

Add crispy chicken to the sauce.

Toss quickly to coat evenly.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
