No Knead, No Eggs, No Butter Bread

(The Easiest & Cheapest Homemade Bread)

    Makes: 1 large loaf
    Prep Time: 5 minutes
    Rise Time: 1–2 hours
    Bake Time: 35–40 minutes

    🧂 Ingredients (4 basic ingredients!)

    • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour

    • 1 teaspoon salt

    • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, but helps yeast activate)

    • 2 teaspoons instant yeast (or active dry yeast)

    • 1¼ cups (300ml) warm water (about 105–110°F / 40–43°C)

    🥣 Instructions

    1️⃣ Mix the Dough

    1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

    2. Add warm water.

    3. Stir with a spoon until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
      (No kneading needed!)

    2️⃣ First Rise

    1. Cover bowl with plastic wrap or towel.

    2. Let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.

    3️⃣ Shape the Dough

    1. Lightly flour your surface.

    2. Gently transfer dough onto it.

    3. Shape into a round loaf by folding edges inward (no kneading).

    4. Place on parchment paper or into a lightly oiled loaf pan.

4️⃣ Second Rise (Optional but Better Texture)

    • Let rest 20–30 minutes while oven preheats.

    5️⃣ Bake

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    2. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

    3. Tap bottom — it should sound hollow.

    4. Cool completely before slicing.

    🌟 Super Cheap Tips

    • Skip sugar if needed — still works.

    • Use store-brand flour and yeast to keep cost minimal.

    • Add seeds or herbs only if available — recipe works plain.

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 tablespoon dried herbs

    • 2 tablespoons sunflower or sesame seeds

    🧊 Storage

    • Room temperature: 2–3 days (wrapped)

    • Freeze: up to 2 months (slice before freezing for convenience)
